What keeps businesses on the phone
Moving to the API means giving up the app and the chats on your phone.
1. With Coexistence the app keeps working, and the last 6 months of chats sync into Ciarem.
If a bot answers on your number, it will talk over you.
2. When you reply from the phone, the AI stops immediately, even mid-reply, and leaves the conversation to you.
Your team can't see what you answered from your phone.
3. Replies from the app show in the Inbox within seconds, labeled WhatsApp Business app, so the thread is always complete.
One number, two places
A customer writes and the message arrives on your phone and in Ciarem's Inbox. When the AI replies, the reply also appears in your app's thread, as if you had written it. Edits and deletions you make on the phone sync to Ciarem too.

You stay in control
The moment a reply from the app arrives, the conversation is marked as handled from the app and the AI stops, cancelling even a reply it was writing. Ciarem's composer locks, with a Take over button for when someone wants to continue from the Inbox.
Limits to know before you connect
Coexistence is Meta's setup, and it comes with Meta's limits. Writing from Ciarem more than 24 hours after a customer's last message needs an approved template, while the app keeps writing as usual. Once connected, the number can't be de-registered from the API.
- Groups, catalog, broadcast lists and Status stay in the app
- Sending from Ciarem is capped at 20 messages per second
- Your phone must stay online: about 14 days offline breaks the connection
- Linked devices like WhatsApp Web are signed out, and calls keep ringing on the phone
- Disappearing messages, view once and live location turn off in 1:1 chats
Move to a dedicated line when you grow
When more teammates answer from the Inbox and volume goes up, you can connect the number as a dedicated WhatsApp Business API line instead. It runs without a phone, sends up to 80 messages per second and takes voice calls in Ciarem, but the number no longer lives in the Business app.

Connect without leaving the app

Choose Coexistence
In Channels > WhatsApp, click Connect WhatsApp Business, then WhatsApp Business App (Coexistence).

Log in and confirm on your phone
Sign in with Facebook and select your Meta Business Account. Meta sends a code to the WhatsApp Business app; confirm it there. The app stays logged in.

Let it finish
The line card shows connecting, then importing while your recent chats sync, then ready. The line already works while history imports.
