Follow-up tasks

Follow-up tasks that don't get lost in the chat

A task is a dated to-do on one contact: call back about a quote, send the price with shipping, confirm a visit. It belongs to the contact's owner, and your AI agent can create it when a customer asks for something a person has to do.

Where follow-ups go to die

  1. "I'll call you tomorrow", and then nobody does.

    1. A dated task on the contact, for its owner, that shows as Overdue the moment it slips.

  2. A customer asks the AI for a quote at night, and the request sinks in the chat.

    2. The AI agent creates a task for the contact's owner whenever a person has to do something later.

  3. A lead changes hands and the pending to-dos stay with the old rep.

    3. Tasks belong to the contact's owner and move with the contact when it gets a new one.

A to-do on the contact, not in someone's head

Each task carries what needs to happen, when it's due and the context to do it. There is no separate assignee: the contact's owner is responsible, and gets a notification as soon as a task is created for them. A task on a contact with no owner waits under No owner, where admins see it.

  • Type: Call, Message, Meeting or To-do
  • Priority: Low, Medium or High
  • A note and up to 10 attachments
  • Creating and completing a task is recorded on the contact's timeline

The AI agent writes them for you

Turn on Can create tasks for the team in an agent's configuration, and the agent creates a task for the contact's owner when a customer asks for a call back, a quote or anything else a person must do later. Integrations add them too: Meta Lead Ads when its WhatsApp auto-reply can't be sent, and HubSpot for tasks created there on a synced contact.

One list: overdue, today, upcoming

The Tasks page splits Open and Completed, and groups open tasks into Overdue, Today and Upcoming. Every task shows who created it: a teammate, the AI agent or an integration. The sidebar shows how many are due.

  • Filter by due date, by who created it, and by owner if you are an admin
  • Sort by due date, priority, creation date or title
  • Select several and mark them done at once

Create one from wherever you are

Add a task from the Tasks page, from a contact's Tasks tab, or from the tasks card in a conversation's details panel in the Inbox, without leaving the chat.
