How to Connect Claude to WhatsApp and Set Up Your AI Agent From the Chat

Claude doesn't write to your customers on WhatsApp. What it can do, once connected to Ciarem, is set up the AI agent that answers them, test it and tell you how it's doing, all from a conversation.

The quick answer: Ciarem AI is listed in Claude's connector directory. You connect it, create an account if you don't have one, and Claude asks a few questions about your business, sets up your AI agent, reads your website and shows you how it answers. The last step, connecting WhatsApp or Instagram, happens in Ciarem because it needs your Meta login.

How to connect Claude to Ciarem

1. Open Ciarem AI in the Claude directory, or in Claude (web or desktop) go to Settings > Connectors and search for "Ciarem AI".
2. Click Connect and sign in to Ciarem. If you don't have an account, you create it there and your free trial starts. If you belong to several workspaces, choose one.
3. In a conversation, turn Ciarem on from the + menu and ask for what you need.

On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may have to enable the connector for the organization before members can connect.

Set up your AI agent from the chat

If you created your account from Claude, your workspace starts empty. Write something like "Set up an AI agent for my business" and Claude walks you through it:

1. It asks about your company, industry, what you offer, your website, what the AI should help with (selling, answering questions, scheduling) and the channels you'll use.
2. It fills in your business context, creates the agents for your goals and reads your website into a knowledge base. Reading the website takes a few minutes.
3. It shows you how the AI answers a few sample customer messages and fixes what's off with you.
4. When you're happy, it gives you the links to connect WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or web chat. Once a channel is connected, the AI answers your real customers.

Change and test what you already have

If you're an admin, you can ask Claude to change how your agent works and try the change on a sample message. Claude asks you to approve each change before it's saved, and tests send nothing to anyone. Three requests to start with:

• "Make the AI more formal and keep replies short, then test it with 'How much is shipping to Cali?'"
• "The AI keeps offering discounts. Save a correction so it never offers one, and test it again."
• "Go through my account health and fix what you can, testing each change."

Check your inbox and contacts

Claude can also read your workspace. Ask which conversations assigned to you are waiting for a reply, get a brief before a call with a customer, or find out why the AI transferred a chat. Each answer links back to Ciarem so you can open the contact or conversation and reply from there. Your customers keep talking to your agent and your team in the same inbox.

Common questions

Does Claude answer my customers on WhatsApp? No. The Ciarem AI agent answers them, with your business information. Claude is for setting it up, testing it and checking on it, and it never sends messages to your customers or edits contacts.

What do I still do in Ciarem? Connecting channels, inviting your team, billing, adding files and websites to the knowledge base, catalogs and your business hours. Claude links you to the right screen.

Who sees what? Each person connects with their own Ciarem login and sees what they see in Ciarem. What you ask, and the Ciarem data Claude reads to answer, goes to Anthropic under its terms, so connect it only if your company allows that for customer data.
